Hi everyone i'm looking to do a distance learning course NVQ in beauty therapy and wanted to get a bit of feedback which courses are good and how they compare to doing a full time at college type course.

Any comments?

I would recommend the ITEC qualifications and courses.
Having seen NVQ and ITEC graduates there is a higher quality in the ITEC work.
I definately prefer my ITEC graduate and I think you would highly benefit from their courses. The ITEC qualifications are also internationally recognised so it doesn't stop you moving around later in life if you want.

Hi, I did my NVQ level 4 Holistic Beautician course and NVQ level 3 Indian Head Massage course with Stonebridge college which is a distance learning school. The great thing about it is you can do all your learning from home but if you get stuck you can e-mail your given tutor or ring them and all your assignments are sent through the post, marked and returned to you. The greatest thing is you study when you have time not at a set time and place. I say yes to distance learning courses they helped me to work in the day and study at night and week-ends when I had the time off. Good luck x

i am currently studying a stoneridge diploma in beauty therapy level 3. being able to do it in my own time around work is great and so much easier.

but i am looking in to a nail technician course, i have been practising maincures and pedicures on the family and my work are always saying their surprised i do my own nails so well. but with extention, acrylics/gels etc, would a distance course be worth the money?
most of the ones i have looked at do provide equipement but with basically training yourself, is it worth it or does anyone think its is better to look for a part time/ evening course?

Thanks!!
