Hi everyone,
I desperately need some advice!
Ok, so I have completed NVQlevel 2 in beauty therapy, now I am on a part time level 3, however, I hate it!!! :( Its not covering anything I want to do and i feel as though i would be better doing the short courses covering what I want to do. Is this a really bad idea??
Thanks !

Hi there,
I would say it depends what you'd like to do at the end of it. If you want to be self employed the short courses would be fine and you can then do treatments in what you please.
If you are looking to work in a spa, salon, abroad or on a cruise ship then I would grin and bare it with the level 3 course, as not having level 3, in my experience, will put you at a disadvantage with employers and agencies.
I took the first route (because I wasnt interested in electrics), and then just did massage qualifications at level 3. I now wish I did the whole level 3 at college instead as I am constantly at a disadvantage when it comes to jobs. Employers take you more seriously if you have level 3.
Hope that helps a little
Samia

Why don't you try NVQ3 Spa Therapy route, it is workbased learning, so you work in a spa or salon to gain experience, earn some money and you learn more holistic subjects for example stone therapy, body massage, indian head massage, etc.
