I live in Wimbledon and have just finished level 2 beauty, i will be starting level 3 beauty in September 08 and would really like to start working in a salon but i am finding it very hard to get some where. Is it best to wait until im fully qualified before i start looking for work in the beauty industry??

I waited because everywhere i went wanted fully qualified therapists so i didnt bother and just did treatments at home instead x

Its best to get as much experience in the field as possible because believe me you may think its hard now trying to get a job if you have no experience working within a salon you will find it even harder. When I was level 2 qualified I looked for salons who offered placements where I could get the experience I needed. I sent over 60 letters to nearby salons and was accepted by one whom I am still working at today and absolutely love it. Obviously we cant all work for nothing forever so I spoke to my manager who in turn gave me a wage after 4 months after I proved myself to be a hard worker.

Good luck and never give up!!
