Hi leanne, it really depends on what aspect of beauty you want to work for? I have worked within a salon and have worked in the retail skin and make up depeartment and now im starting working within harrods as a quickbliss therapist an retailer for the skincare company Bliss.
When you first do your level 2, you usaully have to do work experince, which is how i recieved my job in a beauty salon, sometimes courses do not make you have a work placement, but even if they don't i would still try and get a saturday job within a beauty salon, so on your cv potential employers can see you have tried really hard.
If you have any other questions or queries do let me know.

I studied at LCBT, i loved it!
But something i regret was not finishing my nvq level 3 course, i had things going on at home and couldnt continue with it!
Dont be nervous about starting college, all of the lecturers and staff are really nice.
I hope you have fun at LCBT i wish i could go back and do all of my courses over again, thats how much i loved being there :)

hi, if i was you i would see if you can get your experience now before you finish lvl2. I did my lvl 2 in 2004 and never got a placement and im JUST starting lvl 3 and i do have a salon to go to which is a must i think to get your confidence going. So you can be practise all you are being taught. The salon im in is even putting me on extra training, dermilogic and creative nails.so you can get extra to! good luck with it all
