I have worked within the beauty industry for 7 years now and its normally quiet during the month of October, however I have never seen it this quiet before. Where I work its very quiet at the moment and its quire worrying.
As for jobs there doesnt seem to be alot going. However you may find soon alot of tempory Xmas jobs coming up. So good luck!!

Mines near Wolverhampton, however I am also looking for another job as its so quiet. This week all I have booked in is 2 appointments!!!!
I know how you feel as I was looking going into office work, but I'm just keeping my sights on beauty jobs at the moment.
I know Clarins are always looking for people you could try them for a job.xx

Hi Danni Just read about your situation, I think many salons and therapists are in the same boat at the moment.
I think Georgina's post about Clarins is a good Idea, have you thought about trying Decleor too. Many of these companies are now looking for beauty therapists for counter sales work now they have expanded their business. You could gain training and experience whilst you look for another salon posistion. These are usually at many house of fraser, debenhams, selfridges stores etc.
Do you own a car? the Preston area does not have any new developments at the moment but with the opening of Liverpool One there is bound to be a recruitment drive for beauty therapists in many of the new stores. It may be worth the 45 minute drive to liverpool just to get work.
Anyway, I hope that helps.. I will have a search on the net for you in the meantime!
