Hi.
Thats great u have ure qualification. You feel great after it. It is scary but only with experience will you get more confidence. I was the worst with confidence and i am so much better now. I dont have a salon job but even when i work on family and friends i get a bit nervous. So practise, carry out treatments and read up on beauty stuff and keep ure knowledge up too.

Hi there! Everyone is nervous once they are ready to face the world of work for the first time - it is scary but you have to tell yourself that YOU CAN DO IT! You deserve a massive congratulations for passing; tell yourself this every day! And from me: wow what an achievement! I bet you are just as good as anyone else out there! Most nerves arise because you are afraid of making a mistake. But why would you make a mistake> You've done ALL that study and passed - you really have the knowledge to do a great job now! You can do it!
To build your confidence, take on some private clients. Practice every single day on your friends and family. Ask them to help towards your costs if they are happy with the treatment they receive. I bet most of them will pay. Set yourself some kind of goal to do 10 manicures in one week. If you do that, what else can scare you. You've set yourself and achieved a goal! That's all you'll be doing in a salon job...it won't be any different there at all. I know the thought of workin on 'real clients' can be scary, but honestly, they are no different to anyone else, and most clients are lovely.
If you tell yourself in your head "oh I'm scared of making a mistake" then nerves will get the better of you and you will make a mistake.
If you tell yourself in your head "I'm qualified, have completed all my training successfully, I've got some experience, I CAN DO THIS" then the positive thoughts will have a positive affect on you and you'll be fine.
If all else fails and you still feel nervous...learn how to ACT! Pretend to be confident - smile and take the bull by the horns. No-one will ever know how you feel inside except you!
The best of luck to you!
