Q. What inspired you to set up your own mobile hairdressing service?

With my own mobile hair styling service, I am able to offer a more dedicated and professional service.

Q. In the early days what were the biggest challenges you faced?

At first, the greatest practical challenge was getting used to moving around London, as I was used to the more compact layout of Lisbon and its surroundings.

Q. What are the biggest advantages of freelance hairdressing over working in a hair salon?

The biggest advantage, so far, seems to be the benefit clients enjoy in a flexible availability and timetable, so that they get a quality hair styling service when convenient to them and not to the working hours of a salon.

Q. In your opinion what makes a good hair stylist?

The most professional hair stylists are those that actively observe what the best would be for a client's hair and offer the most beneficial professional advice on the latter's hair styling and after care.

Q. What do you love about the work you do?

I love the opportunity of being creative and seeing the positive results of effectively repairing damaged hair.

Q. What is special about the service you offer?

I hope that the most special side of my service is the care I try to offer to best meet my clients' objectives and wishes with the use of exclusively professional hair products.

Q. Do you think there is a growing need for mobile hair services?

There does indeed seem to be a growing demand.

Principally, this seems to be because of ever increasing demands on everybody's time, so, there's ever less time to set aside hours to spend in a salon.

Also, there seems as well to be a bit of resentful undercurrent from some clients to less than professional hair care and styling service from certain establishments.

Q. What is your proudest achievement to-date?

So far, the fact that I seem to be one of the few hair stylists that uses the various professional and effective hair products from Brazil's VitaAmazônia™ has tangibly influenced for the better my reputation in the market and, thus, given me most personal satisfaction in being able to differentiate myself from others.

Q. Typically what types of people require your services?

Most of my clients seem to be made up of two principal categories; one is the busy professional working lady and the other (but not necessarily mutually exclusive) is the large Brazilian and, to a lesser extent, Portuguese communities in London.

Q. What are your aspirations for the future?

In terms of service provision, I aim to be able to offer in the near future professional hair extensions and in the medium term, I hope to be able to build up my marketing and distribution activities of VitaAmazônia™'s hair products, both in the United Kingdom and abroad, which I am in the process of putting together.

Q. What do you think is the future of mobile hair and beauty services?

As everybody's time management seems to come under ever greater pressure, this sort of flexible professional service can only become more attractive, so long as you truly offer clients real peace of mind.
