Meet the Expert: Laura Holt
Laura Holt shares with us how her first role with Bailiffscourt may have not been her first choice, but that it did manage to open the doors to her dream role of Treatment Manager.
How did you get to where you are today?
I trained as a therapist when I turned 25, after my two-year course I came to Bailiffscourt Spa looking for a therapist job however they didn’t have any vacancies for therapy only reception. Really wanting to work for Bailiffscourt I applied for the reception position and was successful. I probably only spent a month on reception before a job became available in Therapy and crossed over. After a year as a therapist I applied for the senior therapist position and was senior for 2 years, now after 3 years with the company I am the Treatment Manager.
What have been your highs and lows of your career?
I have had a lot of highs in my career so far, becoming treatment Manager is definitely at the top of that list, lows would probably be more at the beginning of my career having no experience and making silly mistakes but we’ve all been there at some point and learn from them.
What keeps you motivated in your career?
Loving what I do definitely helps to keep me motivated
What advice would you give someone wanting to start a career in spa?
Take whatever job is available even if its not the job you were hoping for, it could open a door to greater things!
What’s in your makeup bag right now?
Benefit roller lashes mascara, Bare minerals Foundation, Eye Liner and about 20 Lip Sticks!!
