hairandbeautyjobs.com is a job board that seeks to assist job seekers in the pursuance of employment and employers / recruiters to source suitable candidates for their vacant positions. At hairandbeautyjobs.com your privacy is important to us and we will do all we can to ensure all personal information obtained will be used in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force 25 May 2018. We will only therefore use your data in accordance with the following policy: 
 
(1)  Jobseekers and Candidates 

(1.1) Types of Personal Information we may hold on you 
 
In addition to a jobseeker account created via our site’s registration page, an account (if one does not already exist) will be automatically created for a jobseeker when either (i) their first online job application is submitted, or (ii) their first jobs-by-email request is saved. 

During either registration, submitting a job application or submitting a jobs-by-email request you will be prompted to provide us with personal details. We classify personal details as any piece of data which may identify you as an individual. Examples of personal information we hold include but may not be limited to your: 

  • Details that may identify you such as your name 

  • Contact details (address, email address, telephone number) 

  • CV and personal information held therein 

(1.2) Purpose of processing and how we obtain your personal information 

During the registration process all of our prospective candidates can consent to providing us with their personal information such as name, email address and CV. hairandbeautyjobs.com processes this personal information for the legitimate interest of recruitment and providing work-finding services and/or information relating to roles relevant to you. If you do not wish us to collect personal information on you please do not provide it. 

(1.3) How can I manage or have deleted the personal information you hold on me 

You have the following rights: 

  • Right to be informed about how your personal data is being processed and why 

  • Right to request access at any time to view the personal data we hold for you 

  • Right to request correction and have rectified any personal data we hold if for example it is inaccurate or needs updating. 

  • Right to request erasure of any personal data we hold for you so that we stop processing your personal data and have your personal details removed from our database. 

  • Right to object to the inclusion of any personal information 

  • Right to request restriction of processing of your personal data. This means as a candidate you have the option of opting out of job alerts, withdrawing a job application and deactivating your account. 

  • Right to portability of your data where you can request your personal data is provided to you in a format (i.e. PDF) suitable for transferring to a third party 

  • Right to request the transfer of any personal data we hold for you 

(1.3.1) To update your CV and manage your personal information: 

Please note you are responsible for keeping your personal information up to-date and we cannot be held responsible for any eventuality of your personal information being inaccurate. To update your CV or rectify any personal data we hold for you, please sign into your account on hairandbeautyjobs.com and update your profile. From there you can make any necessary changes and save the updates. 

If you find any issue in updating your personal information please contact us at  admin@hairandbeautyjobs.com  and we will endeavour to assist you. 

(1.3.2) To request we delete your data: 

If you no longer wish for us to process your personal data and would like to delete your entire account then you can manage this by logging into your account and selecting ‘Your account’ from the menu and clicking on the ‘delete your account’ link provided. 

Else you can email your request to  admin@hairandbeautyjobs.com  or send it to our postal address - 43a Chertsey Road, Woking, Surrey, GU21 5AJ. We will deal with your request within 1 month of receiving your request. 

Please be aware: If your account is terminated then all of your account information including your user account, applications, shortlist, jobs-by-email and profile including CV will be irretrievably removed from our site, both front and back end. 

You should also be aware that in applying to any job vacancy, that the 3rd party employer in question may still retain your personal information within their records. You may therefore want to contact them independently to request any possible information they hold on you is also removed. 

Please note for quality reasons, hairandbeautyjobs.com reserves the right to remove any candidates account where we deem the account to be bogus, contain obscene or illegal content or where the contact details (such as email address) are no longer valid. 

(1.3.3) To hide your personal information from employers and recruiters searching our database 

Employers and recruiters can pay to search our CV database to find suitable staff for their vacant positions. Within your account you have full control of your privacy settings and can opt to hide your profile information (including your CV) 

If you have previously selected to hide your name, address, telephone number or email then we have removed your profile and CV from being searchable on our database. If you are unsure what your privacy settings are set to currently we advise you to sign into your account and check your privacy settings. 

If you are at all concerned about your personal details being searchable to employers accessing our CV database then we advise you to opt to hide your profile information. 

(1.4) Who do we share your personal information with and by what means 

For added protection of your personal data, hairandbeautyjobs.com makes it a requirement of our terms and conditions that any third party employer or recruiter using our services does so for recruitment purposes only and any subsequent processing of your personal data is done in full abidance of GDPR data protection regulations. 

hairandbeautyjobs.com may share your personal information with employers and recruiters if you apply to a job and/or you consent for your profile to be searchable on our CV database. 

(1.4.1) You apply to a job 

If you opt to apply for a job being advertised your contact details and CV (if uploaded) together with any personal information held therein will be automatically emailed to the relevant employer / recruiter for consideration in respect of the advertised role. 

The outcome of your application may be dependent on information you provide so we would advise you check your contact details are correct and that other information such as your work history and qualifications are up to-date. You are responsible for both checking and maintaining your personal information and we cannot be held responsible for any consequences with your application should it come as a result of inaccurate information being provided. 

Please note, recruitment agencies advertise job vacancies on behalf of third party employers on our site. These agencies will have accepted terms and conditions with us stating that your personal details will only be forwarded onto their hiring client with your consent. 

You should also be aware that some direct employers will occasionally request that their identity on an advert be anonymous owing to sensitivities around a particular vacancy being advertised. You bear the responsibility of deciding whether you want to proceed in applying to a vacancy advert under such circumstances. 

(1.4.2) Your profile is found by employers / recruiters searching our candidate database 

Unless you have chosen to not make your profile and CV searchable, then your profile + CV (and all personal information contained therein) will be accessible to potential employers searching our CV database. You should be aware there is the potential for your current employer to be a client of hairandbeautyjobs.com and to have also purchased this service. 

Within your jobseeker account you have full control over whether recruiters are able to view your profile. If there is only one recruiter you do not wish to have access to your details (i.e. your current employer) then you can enter their details. 

Employers and recruitment agencies upon finding your details on our CV database may contact you via any of the contact details provided on your profile and CV, such as telephone or email. 
 
hairandbeautyjobs.com we will make attempts to verify the identity and nature of any business accessing our CV database. However we cannot make any warranties to their authenticity and furthermore cannot control subsequent third party use of information they have access to whilst receiving our services and cannot therefore be held responsible for any eventuality. 

We advise you therefore to be sensible about the information you provide on your profile and CV. 

(1.4.3) Statistical Information 

hairandbeautyjobs.com may use some or all of the data contained on the candidate database for the purpose of collating general statistical information which may provide third parties and clients certain information about the site such as number of stylists in a given geographical area or the number of therapists with a given qualification. However, we warrant that such information will not include identifiable details of you as an individual. 

(1.5) How long will you store my personal information for 

You will have access to the data we hold for you on hairandbeautyjobs.com for as long as you require us to keep it for work-finding services. Our data retention policy with regards to your personal data is as follows: 

  • Job applications 
    Any job applications made by you (including any attached CV) via the online application form showing on the site will stored for 120 days in (a) your candidate account enabling you to keep a track of your online application history(b) the employer’s account whose job you applied for enabling recruiters / employers to review online applications for their jobs. After 120 days any job applications made by you will be automatically deleted from the system. 

  • Candidate Profile + CV 
    If your account shows a prolonged period of inactivity then we will write to you asking whether you wish to keep your account open and have your profile stored on our database. You can sign  into your account to keep it open or else opt to delete it. 
    If after 14 days of the initial email notification you have not responded then we prompt you again by email. A third and final email notification will be sent if you have still not responded to either message after 7 days. If after the final message you have still not responded then we will delete your account and thereby cease processing your personal information. 

(1.6) Marketing Services and Communications 

Providing we have your consent, hairandbeautyjobs.com will provide some job-finding and career related services by email. We have listed such services below. You have the right to opt-out of receiving these communications via the unsubscribe link included with all our mail and/or within the privacy settings of your account. 

(1.6.1) Jobs Alerts by Email 

The job alerts service offered by hairandbeautyjobs.com requires that you provide us with your job role and location preferences which we will then store for the purpose of automatically matching you with any vacancies posted by our clients. The job alert service is something you can opt into receiving at hairandbeautyjobs.com. We default to send job alerts on a daily basis but this can be amended within your account to being weekly. 

(1.6.2) Emails from hairandbeautyjobs.com 

If you opt in to receiving emails about jobs and services from hairandbeautyjobs.com then we may email you our career newsletters updating you on jobs, career and training opportunities in your sector or notify you of any services on offer through the site. 

(1.6.3) 3rd party mailings 

If you opt to receive emails from 3rd parties you may receive details of career and training opportunities from recruiters, employers and education providers operating within the hair and beauty industry. 

(1.6.4) Triggered emails and personalised marketing 

This website stores information about your account, and your job  applications which interest you. It is used to manage your account and process your orders. 

- Personal data may be used to send triggered emails, such as abandonment and application confirmation emails.  

- Personal data may be used to personalize marketing, for example to suggest products that are related to your previous shopping”.  

(1.7) What steps do you take to keep my personal information safe 

  • SSL encryption - To protect your personal information hairandbeautyjobs.com uses industry standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to encrypt our services and secure your data.
